Managers and Coaches,

Here you will find important information necessary to help you during the season.

Guidelines for Youth Pitchers (as of 2015

Managers or coaches should follow the pitch count guidelines listed below for both Recreation and Travel teams.  We want to ensure youth pitching arms stay safe in order to limit the likelihood of pitching fatique.

Little League Pitch Count Rules

Field Inspection

Managers or coaches should inspect fields prior to use. If the issue can be resolved prior to a practice or game, please go ahead and fix the potential hazard then begin activities.  If the issue cannot be resolved and a potential hazard exists, do not use the field and contact the Safety Officer or Fields Coordinator.

 

Equipment

Managers or coaches should inspect equipment prior to use. If equipment in your bag is damaged or can cause harm to the players, do not attempt to use it.  Ask another Team Manager if you can use their equipment during a practice or game.  You must contact the Equipment Manager, Mike DeSena, for replacement equipment as soon as possible.  If you notice the players personal equipment is damaged or not fitting correctly, notify the parents immediately.  Cups should be worn at PW level and must be worn at Minors, Majors & Seniors.

Umpires

All umpires are assigned for Minor and Major Baseball recreation games.  If an umpire does not arrive at game time, please contact the Umpire Coordinator, Mike DeSena.

 

Injuries/Accidents

All injury's (recreation or travel teams) must be reported to the League President , Michael DeSena, within 48 hours. Managers must fill out the Injury Tracking Form, click on this link InjuryTrackingForm, fill out form and submit to Safety Officer and League President.


Lightning & Thunder

Please click on lightning safety flyer to familiarize yourself with lighting and thunder events as they occur during a practice or game. This information will also be posted in the dugouts at all fields. Two important points that you must adhere to:

  • Lightning often strikes outside the area of heavy rain and may strike as far as 10 miles from any rainfall.
  • Do not resume activities until 30 minutes after the last thunder was heard.

Lightning Detection Systems have been installed at Clark, Memorial, Westvale and Sherry Field.  Washington Township policy, defined below, must be adhered to when the system detects lightning.  Local Police have the authority to remove all individuals from the town fields.

 

Attention

This field is equipped with a Lightning Detection System.

If Siren sounds and Strobe light is on that means Lightning is in the area.

Take appropriate action to ensure safety.

Strobe light remains on during detection.

When Siren sounds and strobe light is off it is safe to return.

Weather conditions can change.

This system is not an absolute protection

Please use common sense.
