Recreational Baseball Program

Teeball

This division is open to boys and girls who are Little League Baseball Age 5U and 6U.  This is a two year program to introduce a helmet, bat and ball.  Parents will need to supply a helmet and bat for their child.  The bat should be a Teeball approved bat which is engineered to hit Tee Ball approved balls.  Little League non TeeBall bats should not be used.

Commitment is usually 1 hour a week practice during a weekdays late afternoon.  In addition to 1 game a week on Sunday mornings April - June.

This is also where we start identifying early bloomers and new coaching staff members to prepare for the 7U/8U NEBAS Coaching Pitch Travel Baseball development league for PeeWee Baseball players in the next division.

PeeWee Baseball

This division is where Softball and Baseball usually separate and Little Age 7U and 8U children are able to start their Little League baseball journey.   Here a properly approved USA bat (non Tee Ball) must be used.  Regular LLB1 balls are introduced as are outs.

For the first half of the season the format is Coach Pitch with 5 run max Innings to move the game along.  During the second half of the season Kid Pitch is introduced but “Safety Soft” balls are used as well.  The field dimensions are 40ft x 60ft (Mound x Distance Between Bases).  Scores and standings are not kept as this age group is purely instructional and meant to instill a love for the game.  Games are played across Sherry West, East and Gardner.

Commitment for this Division is 1 day a week Practice usually Mon-Wednesdays and 2 games a week on Wed, Thursday and Saturdays as the schedule and field availability permits.

Players in this division are eligible for the Summer LIttle League Tournament Team (has to meet minimum LL game requirement; these are rec games).  Depending on participating we could have one to as many as three teams playing travel with at least one Kid Pitch team and one Coach Pitch team.

Minors Baseball

This division is for Little Age 9U and 10U.  This is where recreation baseball starts to look like real baseball.  Official Umpires are at the games, balls, strikes and competition happens amongst friends and classmates.  Dimensions for the field are now (46x60) and games are played primarily at Sherry Minor.  Pitching, Catching, Stolen Bases, and more are elements of every game from this point on.

This age group participates in a game at Clark field on opening day, has playoffs and a championship game as seasons end.  We also try to schedule games with neighboring towns' recreation programs.

Commitment is 1 practice a week for 90 mins Mon-Tuesday and 2 games a week, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturdays.

Players in this division are eligible for the Summer LIttle League Travel/ Tournament Team (has to meet minimum LL game requirement; these are rec games).  Depending on numbers of participation we could have a few teams in either all 10U Division or split between a 9U and 10U Division.  In the event we have enough skilled players we may even elect to field A, B or C level teams in both 9U and 10U levels.

Majors Baseball
